Fitting Hockley Kevlar Tank Guard

Just a quick question for anyone that has fitted a Hockley kevlar tank guard AND retained the mechanical hand brake...

Do the handbrake cables run in the gap between the fuel tank (which has clips built in for locating the h/brake cables) and the guard... or do they run underneath the guard itself?

There are 2 little stand-off's/tubes in the body that the h/brake cables slot in to. I can't see how the guard will fit over these without cutting it...

It's been a while since I fiited the guard so can't remember exactly how I did it but this is how my handbrake cables run

The tank guard has a lip all the way round leftover from when it was made in the mould I suppose.
It's a very tight fit because of this so I think I will just trim the lip off and a bit extra for the h/brake stand-off's / sockets!

Yes I have the guard already it's currently wedged up solid about half way fitted...
I need to take it back out and attack it with an angle grinder.
Another half made part from a reputable motorsport parts supplier. I bought the solid beam mounting kit from same outfit and that was a pain in the t!ts to fit too. It didn't come with the groove machined out to suit the formed stud things inside the beam mounting tubes... the crowd in the US (Turner) that sell the same stuff did come with the groove for around same price...
