Welcome to BMW Rallying

With no 'Works' involvement in the use of BMWs as rally cars since the late 1980s, BMWs don't appear to have been as popular rally cars as would be expected, with their RWD platform. It seems mysterious somehow, that these incredibly popular road cars have not been more popular as at least a base for RealWheel Drive rally cars.

In current times where the availability of RWD vehicles has all but disappeared, Mk1+2 Escorts and expensive/complicated RWD conversions are so prolific and popular on the stages, that it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect BMWs to be better represented than they currently are.

The aim of this website is to encourage and assist with the use of BMW's in rallying by acting as a medium for competitors to share information and compare notes. Hopefully we will see more BMW rally cars in the future, sustaininging the Real Wheel Drive tradition that's still as popular as ever with competitors and spectators.
