good weekend on the car but all taken up with fitting the front end , making brackets and mounts and getting some gaps that look like they should do , so i thought id get it out in the sun for this weeks photo call .....

utilised the original bumper mounts or part of at least


a little more tweeking next week then time to strip it back off ready for some primer ..... fit the tailgate and spoiler next weekend and gap that , i would like to have fitted the large tailgate spoiler that goes with the kit but the thought of 150 quid plus just to be told at scrutineering you have to take it off to run would really spoil my days rallying , dummy out wooooooosh lol ....

spoke to martin at hockleys and the problem with the kit spoiler is that its too tall , makes you wonder if they are aware of the problem why they just commision a shorter one ???

yes it is , they look well with them on , having to settle for an m -tech one

busy weekend dropping tubes down to pick up the diff , also fitted new mounts for the twin eared diff cover , started to weld in captive inserts to take seat belt eyes for tie downs but mig wire ran out so carried on with prepwork ready for next week , should see all fabwork welding finished next week then its on to bodywork and paint ...

took the oportunity to wire wheel the underside then gave it 2 coats of hamerite red before the tank and beam go back on . paint he beam and diff this week ready for fitting . took a long time to decide on the colour white or red , ....

seatbelt eye captives to be welded in next weekend and strut top plates then thats it done ..

Nice one Den, Diva welding has 2 days a week at Alwyns he was probably there this weekend ! I`ll catch up with him next weekend when I`m back.

well thats all the fabrication work done , cant say im sorry to finish that part of it , double skinned the topmounts , mounted the engine oil cooler , tubed the chassis for the guard bar mounting , only real gripe is hockleys guard , guard is fine , mounting bars are fine shame the hole centres bare no resemblence to each other, front bar hole centres were drilled 400mm on the guard and the bosses are spaced at 560mm on the bar , rears were 460mm on the guard and 320mm bosses on the bar , pretty poor when the guard was 200 quid and the bars 120 each plus the vat , so i fitted it and re drilled it as i want to keep moving on with it would take a couple of weeks to sort no doubt in which time i want it painted .. but i will defo need a chat with them :

this is the front hole, bolt head is where it was re-drilled to match the bar , quality control not evident here lol ..... not bitter
