Nothing really planned, probably something small (mickey mouse) just to use as a test /bedding in session

Engine is S14 2.3 Dry sump, Arrow rods, GpA head, Ultra lightweight F/Wheel, AP Twin plate ...etc...
Car is running DTA ECU, Racespec loom.....Should be ready for mapping by mid-june....

Transmission is currently the std Getrag 5spd 1:1 top. This goes back to the initial thoughts of 'roundy round' circuit racing that I was going to do. The tech regs don't allow for non std G/box in series such as Khumo or CTCR etc.....
Have managed to find a genuine prodrive 6spd box, but need to convince my better half that I need that more than a family holday with the kids!!
Possibly a weak link I know, dependent on final output from engine, but I have a couple of spares in case
Diff ratio is running at present 4:27, may need to change dependant upon chosen event

that gearbox would transform the car but you'll probably need a lower diff, we ran our car initially with the standard box and 4.4 diff, it meant running as a four speed, first was very short, but it went o.k.

As my brother says first gear is too short and 5th wont be fully used . Six gears would be ideal , i think they are based on a bigger casing so you might be making a crossmember, linkage and prop up. Then to insult your pocket more you'll want a motorsport CWP.

The 5spd Gp A is a direct swap as externally everything is the same.
If in good condition the standard 5spd is very strong, Apparently you can uprate the front and rear bearings for high output engines.

Theres an Irish Rally guy `Declan` (see s14.net) running a sellholm gearbox, IIRC he used one with drop gears (?) in it so he could retain run of the mill road CWP's.

Welcome Peter, are you the guy that had pics of the build on the BMW trackdays forum? I remember the car and was looking forward to seeing it finished.

To answer a question you previously wrote, yes, rally cars do get finished........but even then, they don't finish Someone else will explain.

Which 6 speed box you thinking of? I use a standard M3 Evo box in mine, with a Prodrive 5.27 diff, the ratios are perfect, if you don't bother with first. You may have a few more revs than me though.

Re..Gearbox...I will probably run with what Ive got to start with, due to budget constraints & after nearly 2 yrs in build, desperate to get out !!
I know of an English guy who is running his E30 M3 rally car with a Quaife 6 spd sequential & rates it highly.....could be a more cost effective route to the usual Drenth/ tractive solutions, although you do here a variety of stories re Quaife quality....who knows

Lee...yes that was me...during the build towards circuit stuff (medication has now kicked in & I'm back on track!)..
Lewe...I noticed your car adverstised recently...did you sell or keep. If kept are you competing anywhere?

How many other people on this forum are rallying E30 M3 S14's?? It would be good to hear about what works & what doesn't...
