Hello guys i'm gonna bite the bullet and buy this compact



It's a 1.8ti with the 1.9 engine i can have it for 1400 cash............

If it already lives in Jersey it would save you a fortune....... and it has rear discs.................and has engine etc .......for little extra you could be up and running.

are you going to be using that engine? if so low mileage/condition? if it's a good straight car i suppose it save a lot off time/faffing about so in that respect it can't be dear!!

Well i live in jersey but it's no hassle getting it back,here's the ad, not to worried about the engine as it's going to have a makeover any way..

Even though it's from a garage i think it's still a half decent price

You could pay similar money for one that has accident damage to sort out.

Go for his throat and get him to put 6 months tax on it

well this is where the pitfall is, i need to drive it down to poole do i chance it with no tax as we don't have road tax here in jersey,how much is 6 months tax these days

It's about £90, but you can claim it back, so it only costs you about £15.

So do i get the garage to tax it and i claim it back ..........

Yep. You just get a form from the PO - paste the disc on it, fill it in. Send to Swansea and the remaining amount is sent back to you.

But get the garage to pay for it or knock it off the price (if you can!)
