No frills compact

Well this is my car and this is how far i am with it. Its going for its cage in a fortnight to geronimo cages in hartlepool, gettin a 6 point bolt in fitted, Andy at geronimo who is doin the work seems a nice enough fella and ive seen his work and its excellent.

Keep it simple and as cheap as possible. Strong shell, brakes and suspension should be first priorities.

just been out in the dark removing sound proofing with the heat gun, boring!!!!!! needed to get some bare metal for the cage to be built...
.....going in tomorow for the cage, exciting times

yeah trailer a little bit small borrowed it from my mate who uses it for his toyota starlet hotrod, towed ok tho would ov been ok with the tyre rack off, wish me cage man would hurry up

anyone know if the tube that goes horizontal across the car for the harnesses to loop around is any good will it be ok welded in the places it is

But.... the only problem you might have will be the diagonal on the passenger side as it may interfere with the harnesses coming straight backwards.

If you look at the Hockley build pics you can see an alternative. I'm going to do this with mine.

apart from the belts may have to deviate slightly to the left/right do you think its ok in other ways, like strength and not being picked up by some scrutineer

anyone any constructive critisism about my cage, just want to make sure its ok before i drag it away from the workshop so i can get it sorted there and then

looks like its fine from the 'bare minimum' standpoint. Personally whilst the cage man is at it I would add a bar across the tunnel and tag it to the A and B pillars for my own piece of mind. Could save you arse in the event of a side impact

Also, make sure you can still get it in and out of the car with that harness bar, and take into consideration seat rails if you are fitting them.
