good weekend all panels back on except the front bumper , all rubbers , handles , latches , badges , dash in , screen in , heater box , hyd handbrake , but forgot the camera so took a few of the motor ive started on in the evenings , i know the original plan was for a 6 pot but thought id give a 4 banger a try , m3 bodies moded and mounted , tried m47 crank in , so its off to the machine shop for some work , get it bored and balanced, thinking of putting it on dta stand alone , so should be interesting to say the least .

By the way is that a Piston peering through the block

ordered rods and pistons , rods from germany , ive not gone for vauxhall pistons going try something different hopefully will work out ok , its a suck it and see aproach, need to work out which cat cams to go for next , when the bits arrive will drop it down the machine shop , thought my debit card was going to a heart attack last night bought shaft as well as other bits ,

i imported a manifold from America after being assured it would fit a RHD compact but it didn't so I'm using the m44 as it looks like it should work better than the m42. i wanted to get a tony Law or Simpson one made but its not easy living in jersey! if you look into getting one keep me in mind as it might be more cost effective getting 2 made at the same time.

yes got one from the states too , will see if i can get it on , going to try it in the bay with just a block and head to start , if i cant get it to fit there is a guy in mid wales called harvey dark that does manifolds , had one done with him before hes well class fair play so it will be off to him otherwise .

couple of photos how the car stands now , running out of bits now , i need to finish the loom off not looking forward to that , make a fuse and relay panel .

rear end is ready to drop on its wheels , need to have the tubes turned down a bit to fit the coilover sleeves on fronts , going fit the head and block tomorrow to try the exhaust manifold and get a measurement for the oil cooler pipes , start ordering a few more bits and pieces this week , measured the brake lines for aeroquip in the week .

got the front and rear coilovers on this weekend , gone for bilstein front and rear , mk2 escort on rear runs quite close to the body and the driveshaft boot so will need to keep an eye on that when shes up and going
started to mock up for a mounting bracket for the rear calipers , got it all fitting ok so get them machined up next .

had the tube turned down a few thou to get the coilover sleeve on , got m3 top mounts , going to order some discs and bells this week then have a look see what calipers are around for the front , gone for 250lb springs at the front and 200lb at rear , as a starting point as never done anything with these before , so we will see how it goes .

front discs and bells on ,made some dummy brackets for the calipers need get them machined up now , got some part worn 18,s to put on a set of old rims i had , needed to get the car rolling , big clean up and sort out then back home to start on the wiring , so head is well fried now . need to work out fuses and relays , think ill put the loom in the car next weekend and plug some stuff in see what works and what dont , just going round in circles on the bench..
