Sad news from the garage today, looks like the crank is bent in the engine, it has also sheared the 4 tork bolts on the front pulley. If it's just the crank then it might be up and running by the end of the year, if there's more nastyness in the engine it will be M44 power for the forseeable future...

If the crank is bent mate i would buy a 2nd hand bottom end mate and rebuild that i would'nt take the chance it has'nt twisted the block or put a hair line crack on the threads of one of the main cap bolts mate as it would destroy it self 1st time you revved it hard.

Thats not going to be for a good while Dave, that engine took a real chunk of my money so looks like a couple of years down the line...........

Got to say i've been there - I've hit a tree head on in our mint sunbeam, the force took it off the mounts, banana'd the crank, shattered the tran-x box, bent the prop, & bent the S.Brown axle. I dont want to remember the whiplash

Turn the motor upside down just fit the end journals, and DTI the crank on centre journal
....hope your luck changes

Go idea it'll only move around 45 deg, the front cover is also bent in wards wether that is stopping it i doubt it........

My mate had a blown 3.0 bottom end engine lost it's oil in an event so might need a regrind but could be had cheap, unless you want my compact with a s50 already fitted

Been doing a bit of shopping for the car, being as i've got to stick with the lowly powered M44, i've decided to shed some weight so i bought these.....

No you can't as we run under the MSA as well, but under FIA rules you can...........
