Been cleaning a painting lots of bits, collecting stuff and stripping a 328... So not much progress lately...

Got my 2.8 m52 engine, plan is with this m3 manifolds, m50 inlet, us m3 cams, chipped ECU, fan delete, bbtb, c a i, de cat, lightened flywheel, lightweight pulleys, should be 240+ bhp



Also cut all the old boot floor out and had a flat one made with swaged lines for strength and for wheel to sit on

Been strengthening rear arms tonight

Braced them like on Z3, put an additional shock stregthener and one to where the ABS sensor was... Also plated / strengthened the ARB mounts..

After a load of research on the internet I'm pretty sure I have done the best I can with these :-S

Garry on here said the M3 wasn't a direct fit for the manifold, so here's a little pic for ya



Only thing is I got the 3.0 ones and only different is the lambda sensors so I have to weld in 2 bosses

I wouldn't want to fit them to a car when the engine is still in tho!

We've tried m3 manifolds on the m54 and the bends hit the block before they touched the head.
Either the m52/4 blocks are different ( ) or theres a few types of manifold

After thinking I was going to give up motocross the locals started talking about the first round of the season.... + I own a motocross shop so I couldn't resist getting the bike ready for the first round of the Welsh...... So rally car has been on hold for a few weeks!!






Anyway on the first race I had a huge crash, flat out off a jump and it went all wrong. That was bad enough... Then another bike went over me!

Broken ribs, damaged hand, leg, arm, head etc so I'm in bits.

No rally car work for 6-8 weeks now

Finally cracking on with the car again and giving it a good push.....




Strut tops welded on for added strength


Been cleaning and painting, boring and time consuming but worth it....




Engine subframe all strengthened



Also plated behind the engine mount points, then again on top like the turner Motorsport kit..

Under bonnet in primer, just got to decide what colour to do it now!!!

Paint it yellow I reckon, either that or grey always looks good under a bonnet.

I seem to be only be able to work under pressure! Or its too easy to say "sod it for tonight"

Sooooo... I have entered a rally! 7th July. Which gives me 5 weeks to do the car

Looking forward to seeing how this goes! ,,,, the hardest and longest bits are the silly things like,, mounting mudflaps, pull cable brackets, window film, master cut off, extinguishers etc.
Make sure you mount your seat belt anchorage point far enough back so that the adjusters for the belts don't foul the slots in the seats.
