Bent it!

We had a moment last weekend in the forest on the PK road rally when I ran out of talent. Buried it in a tree, didn't look that bad until I got the engine out and found a crease at the chassis leg where it meets the bulkhead.
Going on a jig in college on the 19th and then out for the Gogledd at the end of the month.



By Monday it was stripped to see the extend of the damage



All parts sourced except headlight, but seems I may have bought another complete car so ho hum

What do you mean new one, its out again at the end of July on the Gogledd, will be done by then.

Pretty weird for there to be no squiffiness to where the bumper irons attach - the photos make them look square to one another.

I stuffed an M Coupe at the 'Gring a few years back and had to let in a whole new corner including the turret.

Its good that you can be light hearted about your little moment

Hope you can iron out the chassis leg, the very front corners on the inner wings are a 5hite design imo

On the compact we are building (slowly) we''ve countersunk bolts and inserts in a new front crossmember (similar to yours), the original engine crossmember, and a new rear crossmember. As well as protecting the underside it should strengthen/brace the chassis too.
Having said that designing for impact is impossible

If you stiffen one chassis leg to the other youo run the risk of pushing the whole front end over instead of just one leg.
Picked up next years car last night, another ti on an M plate for £100 minus interior and wheels. Has a busted headgasket apparently.
