I know exactly what you mean about no time to test - I've been in exactly the same boat with my new car. As it is a new buil,d from the shell up it would have been good to get some testing, but as it is we have done two events with none and have paid the penalty...

I didn't think Bastos existed anymore, but unfortunately they do, according to the web:

Bastos cigarettes are manufactured and smoked in countries like Algeria, Belgium, Cameroon, France, W.Germany, Madagascar & South Vietnam

If the scroot comes from one of those countries there may be an issue, otherwise tell him its historic

Hi Chris.... Really looking forward to Brand's now its getting close... Unfortunately I dont think my car will be up & running till late next week, so no chance to drive at all.
I have now changed the last letter 'S' in Bastos to read '5'....so should be no probs on that front...see pic. See you at Brands ( If the opprtunity arrises, maybe we should try to get a photo of both cars together, for this site??..I will be there on Sat afternoon for Scrut)

I think a joint photo is a great idea (before the damage starts!) especially as the cars are a similar colour ,should look good

The Escort Cossy looks well, I would love to make a trip across to Belguim, especially as its ony 2-3 hrs from where I am. Keep hearing good reports from UK crews. IOM / Jersey look inviting..... Once satisfied with car set up, I will steer away from SV's

Belgium is fantastic, the atmoshphere makes it, they welcome rallying in a way the british public could never do!

Jersey rally is a fine event too, i went out there servicing once with John (the chap with the bastos escort) and his father, Tony Morgan, who was the winner of the first Jersey Rally
