Re: Adjustable rear beamWhy not DIY the kit yourself, with the help of surfing?
The Eccentric bolts and are standard bmw 7 series parts, i've read a thread providing part numbers a while back - its out there. Then measure the O.D of the washers and size up some metalwork? ![]()
Re: Adjustable rear beamI remember reading a write up on this adaptation somewhere too.
There was something about the bolts being marginal in terms of their length - no threads protruding through the locking nut. I think it would also only work with the OEM rubber type bushes given that adjusting the toe or camber (the inboard and outboard adjusters are intended to be welded to the ears on the crossmember 90 degrees out to one another) would mean that the centre lines of the two bolts would no longer be concentric along a single axis. Polybushes would bind up somewhat if you did that to them and curing the geometry would introduce stiction. ![]() Last edited by ultegra on Fri Feb 26, 2010 10:20 am, edited 1 time in total.
Re: Adjustable rear beamthanks ultegra, as you say bolt lengths will have to be checked as some say the bmw ones work out too short

Re: Adjustable rear beamanother top find there, i think i will have a go at making my own kit ! dosent look all that complicated. interesting comment about the pivot points any more thoughts on that ?
I beg to diff-her
Re: Adjustable rear beamAs you say, the pivot points will mis-align. and probably shorten the life of the bush.
But this will depend on how many minutes/degrees you are looking for? I reckon you wouldnt need a lot of offset to get say 3/4 of a degree. It looks like plenty of people have had a go at it, so it probably is effective to a point. Be the first, and i'll look forward to your feedback some more info here: http://www.e30m3project.com/e30m3performance/installs/installs-3/jl_sub/jl-2.htm ![]()
